An authentic Roman Tunic from ARX Mercatura is a garment carefully handcrafted from high quality natural linen fabric! Available are Angusticlavia – equestrian version with stripes, Laticlavus – senatorial version with one stripe, or a plain tunic without stripes!

A tunic is a garment for the body, simple in style. The name derives from the Latin tunica, the basic garment worn by both men and women in Ancient Rome. The Roman tunic is a must-have for everyone who is following Roman Tradition, involved in the Roman reenactment movement, or simply interested in religion, history, and culture of Rome.

This linen tunic is great for your religious practices and reenactment festivals or simple wearing it at home. It is very light and comfortable in everyday use.

All tunics are made of high-quality linen with (or without) sewn stripes according to authentic antique roman tunics. You can choose between the tunic of citizen (two red stripes), simple tunics (without stripes), tunic of senator (one red stripe).

We do this because all products by ARX are being consecrated with authentic religious ceremony before shipment. The ceremony begins with auspicium – ritual of requesting Iuppiter’s permission for the rites following. This permission may be and may not be granted right away. Sometimes it takes several days to receive it. So sometimes (very rarely) shipment may be delayed a little longer.
